Season 22 Ratings
Chris has been kind enough to provide me with the ratings for next season. Have a look and let me know if anything looks off.

Goalie ratings are heavily dependent on games played too. He only played 42 games. 80 OV is about as good as it gets for only 42 games played.

Re: Season 22 Ratings
A correction: MAF's DU and EN should be 82 instead of 98.

Re: Season 22 Ratings
Any thoughts on goalie game limits?? Crawford played 81 games this year,Holtby 82,Price 80, Raask 82...seriously unrealistic and in my opinion gives an advantage to any team able to do it. Least of which is the Vezina award if they can continue to produce over 82 games.

Re: Season 22 Ratings
I think a 72 game limit would be appropriate....however, if we are striving for more realism then, IMO, the injury slider has to be turned up as well....it is not realistic that not one full time skater was lost for the season or even a huge chunk of games...
I don't think one with out the other should be adjusted

Re: Season 22 Ratings
I don't like the idea of limits on goalies where they take up as high as a CAP % as they do in our league. Almost half the goalies and most any decent/good one takes up a higher team CAP % than the highest paid goalie in the NHL. Explained it way deeper and more in SHL and gladly show the #'s here is required. If doing this then goalie contracts need to be adjusted.

Re: Season 22 Ratings
If you need to play your goalie for 82 games to justify his salary, you are not working your salary very well. That's a poor justification.

Re: Season 22 Ratings
I think the answer is pretty simple. Take the average amount of games played by starting goalies in the NHL and use that, or Avg + 10%.

Average amount of games played by goalies in the NHL is probably only like 40, because there are so many goalies that only play 5-10 games due to injuries and stuff.
Usually top work horses in the NHL play 65-70 games. A limit of 68-70 is probably fair. I played Quick in 69 games this season and he was never below 98 for CD.
Here is the rule from SHL:
Goalies cannot play more than 4.080 minutes total during the Regular Season. Any team going over this limit will be fined $1 million and have the goalie suspended for the remainder of the Regular Season.
Seems pretty reasonable to me.
