Season 31 UFA

Post by Juliet-Bruins »

UFA will open Friday May 28th at 7PM EST, and the deadline for Wave 1 Round 1 bids will be Saturday May 29th at 7PM EST. I'll try and post the results ASAP, after each round, and will notify you all when a delay will occur. Deadline times for each round may change, so do your best to make sure you stay updated. Each update will come once a rounds results are posted. Bids can be sent to me through PM, or through email (juliet29richards@gmail.com). Be sure to include your team if sending it in email, for minimal confusion. Also, be sure to save any bids sent, as if a complaint arises it will be on you to provide proof. I (Juliet-Bruins) will be sending my bids to the commissioner (John-Sharks) before every wave/round opens. No bids on any waves until they are opened. Also, on any player that I have made into round 2 on, your bids are to be sent to John-Sharks for said player. If both John and I are in round 2 on the same player, we will find a neutral third party who will take the bids for us. Everything from here is copy/pasted from Chris's template.

* = UFA 25% player

- Wave 10 is one round only. It includes any player not bid on in previous waves + all players from the unassigned players list. So bid both term and dollar amount in this round.

Rules:

-The minimum offer in Round 1 is $100,000. $1 is the minimum increment.
-In Round 1 you are sending in a signing bonus for a ONE year deal only.
-If a player receives no Round 1 offers then the previous owner can sign that player for a $100,000 per year signing bonus.
-The teams which previously owned players' rights do not make bids in Round 1 and get a 'bye' into Round 2.
-Other than the previous owner of the player, only the highest bid and teams that are within $500,000 or 25% of the highest Round 1 bid make it through to the second round. After round 1 is complete, results will show the top bid in green, all other bids within 25% of top bid are blue, and losing bids will be red.
-In Round 2 you are offering a signing bonus AND the number of years
-In Round 2 the total signing bonus offered will be divided by the following factors: 1 year: 1.0, 2 years: 1.8, 3 years: 2.4, 4 years: 2.8.
--Your total outstanding signing bonuses offered MAY NOT exceed the amount of money you have in your current funds. If you are caught violating this simple rule you may be fined up to $1 million and the bid(s) that puts you over will be removed.
-Once UFA begins there will be no trading of any UFA rights.
-I will not accept bid from a GM for another GM unless I had previously approved it.
- To keep things simple, and allow me to run this as effective as possible, include all math in your offers.

BID VALUE CALCULATIONS - Here is a example on how to calculate your offers:

Bid Value x Year Multiplier x 0.75 (if you have a 25% discount)

Ex: After Round 1 the highest offer on your 25% discount player is $7M. You want to offer $10M and want the player for 4 years.
$10 million x 2.8 x 0.75 = $21 million for 4 years.

Thus, your offer is $21 million to sign the player for 4 years but the value of your bid would be $10 million.

If you send in bids that include BOTH YOUR DISCOUNTED OFFER AND IT'S VALUE BEFORE THE DISCOUNT that will greatly reduce confusion. Better yet, simply include all your calculations, as in the above example

He bid the most Steve. That is how he wins. He sent it to the wrong person by mistake.
