Friend asked for advice, Sim based league next ratings 2014-2015 season, current ratings 2013-2014:

Warriors:

T.Rask
J.Johnson
L.Couture
N.Yakupov

Navigators:

C.Price
D.Phaneuf
K.Okposo

I don't know which team is your friends but if I'm competiting next year, probably Price/Okposo/Phanuef and try to flip Dion. If I'm going for future, MAYBE the Warriors option, Rask is obviously good but will most likely downrate fairly strongly. Couture is good, johnson overrated, and Yakupov needs a change in scenery.

Same.

Tuukka and price are about = long term. Edge to price for next season, but I'd say they will both be top 5 goalies for the next 4-5 seasons.

Dion and JJ are about equal, but I would prefer JJ.

I'd take Couture + Yakupov for Okposo

Nick summed it up perfectly. I also easily take the Warriors side. I also prefer JJ to Phaneuf and personally would take Couture without Yakupov over Okposo. Everyone has their preferences and likes though.

I think the difference between Price and Rask in a sim league is enough that a team might have compelling reasons to overpay in order to get the former. But that's a lot to give up.
