I agree with Chris, but I'm really not adamant and on board with whatever decision is made. I believe majority were in the thought process that he holds though. Still as John wrote any way anyhow someone and some players will get screwed.

Oops, I misread your post. If you're suggesting 29:4 more seasons, 28:5 more seasons as a gradual roll-back, I can potentially back that.

If we do this, the new UFA rule would technically be in place after this off-season to allow re-signing of 29 year olds. If most people are okay with it, I'll go forth.

That would be fairest imo

29yr old gets 4 more after this season (no loss)
28yrs old gets 5 more after this season (lose 1 season)
27yr old gets 6 more after this season (lose 2 seasons)
26 and under loses 2 seasons for the rest of eternity

how about for this season 29 - 4, 28-5, 27 -7 instead of the usual 28-6 and 27-8

then next season 29 - 3, 28 - 5. 27 -7

following season 29 - 2, 28 - 4, 27 -6 and then we leave it at that.

that would lower the ufa age by 1 year.
Tanking is for pathetic losers!

I think this would be the fairest way to do it. That is how I understood the rule change originally. This is what I would like to see.

I'm not sure how people lose out on this.

The maximum number of seasons a contract can hold is 4 am I correct? This would mean that anyone whos contract that has been extended to 5 or 6 would have an increase in value (Unless their contract is ridiculously high for their overall), or am I missing something?

So. I have been operating on the assumption this is the way we are doing this John. You didn't really confirm for sure. Will this indeed be the change?
